ASCHP Specialist Wellness Counsellor
A little bit about me

Kerryn Pillai
ASCHP Specialist Wellness Counsellor
Trauma-informed counselling for individuals and couples navigating emotional and relational complexity.

I am a designated ASCHP Specialist Wellness Counsellor holding a BA in Psychology and an Honours degree in Psychological Counselling. I
work with adults experiencing emotional distress, relational strain, life transitions, and complex interpersonal dynamics. My work supports individuals and couples facing disconnection, overwhelm, high-conflict patterns, and the lasting impact of traumatic experiences.
Alongside my counselling practice, I also speak and facilitate workshops on relational power dynamics and the psychological impact of subtle destabilisation in high-functioning environments.

My Approach
I offer a steady, structured, trauma-informed counselling space grounded in psychological safety, emotional regulation, and reflective insight. Whether you are working through past trauma, relationship challenges, or present stressors, our work together focuses on clarity, resilience, and meaningful, sustainable change.

Trauma-informed work prioritises emotional safety, nervous system awareness, and relational sensitivity, recognising how life experiences shape present emotional patterns.
My approach integrates evidence-informed counselling principles with a deep understanding of attachment patterns and relational systems. Sessions are reflective, contained, and collaborative.
Area of Focus

I have particular experience supporting clients impacted by complex trauma, gender-based violence, sexual trauma, chronic illness, and high-conflict relational dynamics. This work is approached within a trauma-informed and wellness-focused framework that prioritises empowerment, relational awareness, and personal stability.

My speaking and workshop work explores these themes through the Composure–Destabilisation Model, a framework examining how subtle relational destabilisation can affect self-trust and identity in high-functioning environments.
Personal
I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Psychology through the University of Wolverhampton, further deepening my academic and professional work in relational dynamics and psychological wellbeing.

Beyond my professional work, I am also a mother to two young children — an experience that continually deepens my appreciation for emotional development, relational dynamics, and the importance of secure, supportive environments.
I am deeply committed to cultivating spaces where strength and vulnerability can coexist — both in my professional practice and in the way I move through my own life.
Counselling is not about fixing what is broken — it is about creating space to understand, strengthen, and move forward with greater awareness and stability.
